All-on-4 Dental Implants at Fish Creek Dental

Why it matters

Benefits

  • Full arch of permanent teeth — eat, talk, and smile without thinking about it.
  • Fixed in place, not removable — no clicking, slipping, or adhesive.
  • Fewer implants than full-mouth restoration, so lower total cost.
  • Often done without bone grafting thanks to angled posterior implants.
  • Same-day temporary teeth in many cases — leave your first surgery with a new smile.

What to expect

The process

  1. 01

    Comprehensive consultation

We discuss your goals, current dental situation, medical history, and walk through whether All-on-4 is the right approach. A 3D CT scan maps your jawbone in detail.

  2. 02

    Digital planning

Implant positions are planned in 3D software before any surgery. The angle of the posterior implants is what avoids the need for bone grafting in most cases.

  3. 03

    Implant placement

Four implants are placed in a single appointment, typically under IV sedation for comfort. A temporary fixed bridge is often attached the same day or within a few days.

  4. 04

    Healing

Over 3–6 months, the implants fuse with your jawbone. You wear the temporary teeth during this period, which look and function well in their own right.

  5. 05

    Final permanent teeth

Once healing is complete, we craft and place your final permanent bridge — shaped, shaded, and contoured to look and feel natural.

Why this is different from individual implants

If you’re missing one tooth, an individual implant makes sense. If you’re missing most or all teeth in an arch (upper or lower), placing 14 individual implants would be possible but unnecessarily expensive and invasive. All-on-4 uses four strategically placed implants — two vertical in the front, two angled in the back — to support an entire bridge of teeth.

The angle of those back implants is the clever bit. By tilting them, we can:

  • Avoid the sinus in the upper jaw (no sinus lift needed).
  • Use existing bone that wouldn’t be deep enough for a vertical implant.
  • Spread the load evenly across the arch.

That’s why patients who’ve been told elsewhere they “don’t have enough bone for implants” often find out they’re candidates after all.

What life looks like afterward

The most common feedback from All-on-4 patients isn’t about the surgery or the recovery — it’s about how dramatically daily life improves once the final teeth are in:

  • Eating without thinking. No food restrictions. No worry about something getting under a denture.
  • Talking without slipping. Your teeth aren’t sitting on top of your gums — they’re anchored in your jawbone.
  • Smiling without self-consciousness. No metal clasps showing. No worrying that something will fall out.
  • Maintenance like natural teeth. Brush, floss, see us for cleanings — that’s it. No nightly soaking, no adhesive.

What makes our All-on-4 different

Many clinics in Calgary place implants but refer the prosthetic work (the actual teeth) out. Or vice versa. We do both under one roof, with the same team coordinating from start to finish. That means:

  • One point of contact through the whole journey.
  • The bridge designed around the implant positions from day one — not retrofitted after surgery.
  • 3D CT planning so the implant placements are precise and predictable.
  • IV sedation in-house — Dr. Hall is certified, so you can sleep through the surgery without going to a separate sedation clinic.

FAQ

Questions we hear most often

How much does All-on-4 cost in Calgary?
All-on-4 is a major investment — but it's typically less expensive than replacing every missing tooth with individual implants, and often more affordable than years of struggling with traditional dentures. We provide a complete written quote at your consultation and walk you through financing options if helpful.
Am I a candidate?
Most patients are. The procedure is designed for people missing all or most of their teeth in an arch, or whose remaining teeth are no longer worth saving. Even patients told they 'don't have enough bone for implants' can often have All-on-4 because of how the implants are angled.
Can I eat normally afterward?
Yes. After full healing, you can eat anything you could eat with natural teeth — steak, apples, corn on the cob. During the initial healing period, we recommend softer foods. The freedom to eat what you want is the single biggest reason patients choose All-on-4 over dentures.
How long does the whole process take?
From consultation to final teeth, expect 4–9 months. Most of that is healing time, not in-office time. You're never without teeth during the process — the temporary bridge bridges the healing period.
How long do All-on-4 results last?
The implants are designed to last decades — many patients keep them for life. The bridge attached to them eventually wears (typically 10–20 years) and can be replaced or refurbished without disturbing the implants.
How does it compare to dentures?
Dentures are removable, often shift while you eat, may require adhesive, and accelerate jawbone loss over time. All-on-4 is fixed in place, preserves the jawbone (implants stimulate bone like natural teeth do), and feels much more like your original teeth. The trade-off is upfront cost — but for many patients, the difference in daily life is dramatic.
